The HPE Virtual Connect SE 100Gb F32 Module is a high-density fabric interconnect module designed for HPE Synergy frames. It delivers 32 ports of 100Gb Ethernet connectivity with support for 25/50/100 Gb Ethernet downlink speeds and 8/16/32 Gb converged Fibre Channel.
Architecture & Design
This module enables consolidation of legacy hierarchical network architectures into flat, east-west designs with minimal latency within large domains of virtual machines or Synergy compute modules. Its disaggregated, rack-scale design utilizes a primary/satellite architecture that extends connectivity across multiple Synergy frames through Interconnect Link Modules, reducing the need for top-of-rack switches.
Connectivity Features
- Six external QSFP28 uplink ports, each configurable as 1×100Gb, 4×25Gb, or 1×40Gb
- Downlink connections to compute modules support 25/50 Gb Ethernet or 8/16/32 Gb Fibre Channel
- Supports Ethernet, Fibre Channel, Fibre Channel over Ethernet (FCoE), and iSCSI protocols
- Includes support for Large Network Sets (LNS) and RoCE v1/2
- Provides a single flexible interconnect interface for the entire frame
Compatibility & Management
The module is compatible with HPE Synergy 4820C and 6820C Converged Network Adapters, enabling end-to-end 25Gb connectivity from compute modules to external networks. Management is integrated with HPE OneView, allowing fabric configuration through software-defined templates.
