HPE Aruba Networking CX 6300M Power-to-Port Fan Tray (JL761A)

The JL761A is a hot-swappable, modular fan tray designed to provide cooling for the HPE Aruba Networking CX 6300M 48G switch. This fan tray is configured for power-to-port (back-to-front) airflow, which draws cool air from the rear of the switch and exhausts warm air out the front, directly aligning with the airflow direction of the JL760A power supply to ensure consistent thermal management throughout the chassis.

Redundancy & Monitoring

The JL762A bundle includes two JL761A fan trays, providing redundant cooling for the switch chassis. With both fan trays installed, the system can tolerate the failure of a single fan while continuing to operate normally. If a fan fails, the fan LED will flash simultaneously with the switch Fault LED, alerting the administrator to replace the failed component.

Compatibility Requirements

Important: The JL761A fan tray is specifically designed for use only in the JL762A switch. Other 6300M fan trays are not supported in the JL762A, and conversely, the JL761A fan trays are not supported in any other 6300M switch.

Critical Operation Note: The JL762A switch requires both fan trays to be installed for proper operation. Running the switch with a missing fan tray is not supported and may lead to thermal shutdown. Replacement fan trays can be ordered as spares through the JL761A part number.
