Despite its small form factor, the JL258A features 8 autosensing 10/100/1000BASE-T ports, all of which support the IEEE 802.3at PoE+ standard. With a total PoE power budget of 125 Watts, this switch provides ample power for up to eight high-draw devices, such as Wi-Fi 6 access points, VoIP video phones, and security cameras. By consolidating power and data into a single compact unit, the JL258A simplifies cable management in tight spaces and eliminates the need for multiple localized power adapters.

To ensure that small-scale deployments do not compromise on speed, the JL258A is equipped with two integrated 10GbE SFP+ uplink ports. These high-speed interfaces allow for ultra-fast connectivity to a larger network core or high-performance storage, preventing data bottlenecks at the edge. Furthermore, the switch includes a robust Layer 3 feature set, supporting static, RIP, and OSPF routing. This allows for intelligent traffic management and network segmentation directly at the point of access, improving local performance and enhancing overall network security.

The JL258A is fully compatible with the Aruba ClearPass Policy Manager, enabling unified and consistent security policies across the entire network. For ease of operation, the switch is "Cloud-Ready" and can be managed via Aruba Central or Aruba AirWave.
